When you promise me six inches but only bring two...
Seriously, most of the news outlets have been shrieking about how this storm was going to be huge, and I wake up to 2 inches...on the grass. And the cars. Not on the pavement. I guess it's the Storm of the Century Decade Year February.

That's what she said.

Tell me about it. My roommate was giving me hell last night for being too lazy to go to the grocery store that's a mile away because of all the hype.

I was going to say that, it seems we are both children.

When we went to the store Thursday night, all the eggs were gone. Is there some sort of winter egg festival I'm not aware of, where if you get snowed in you spend the whole day making omelettes, souffles, and quiche?

When you promise me six inches but only bring two...
Sadly, that's not the first time I've heard that.

We're (Southern CO) not supposed to get snow until this evening, tomorrow and possibly into Monday. They're predicting up to 11" here. Thirty miles away, they're predicting 4". So, I guess we could get from zero inches to two feet.

I'd be the first in line for that festival, haha. I love me a good omelette.

I think that will be my guideline from now on. Zero to two feet.

That happened to us as well. We were supposed to get 1-3 inches, but I knew we hadn't had enough cold weather to allow the snow to stick to pavement.
Heck, we didn't even get a glazing of ice.

That's what I've said.
If you're going to do that to someone, you'd better have 'other talents'.

There's supposed to be a 2nd part of the storm this afternoon that will bring heavier snow, but I don't believe them anymore. At least I got GT6 working, so if it does happen I have something to do.

I will likely be playing Fourza, because I have no ability at present to go fix the Audi.
This is due to a very minor case of serious food poisoning.
I want more bananas.

Damn, it's time to make breakfast.

There was a joke on the Michigan Reddit earlier this week.
Marquette, MI has seen more than 140" of snow - far outpacing areas declaring a "snowpocalypse". Yoopers have coined the phenomenon "winter".
Seriously, the fear tactics are great and all, but this is literally just winter.

See, this is why you shouldn't eat food you find in a parking lot.

But where else am I going to find my chickens? The coop is too far away, and I can't be bothered to go get them.

We've got about 4 inches here. But the phone says 90% chance of accumulation for the next 24 hours too

I'm originally from the U.P., and I am so glad my parents moved us away from there. A bit of snow is all well and good, but what they get there is a signal from God that you should move away.

Yesterday at work, we spent most of the time making fun of Accuweather on my phone. When I would go for more details, it would say things like "Rain will start in 36 minutes", or "Wintry mix will start in 4 minutes", every time I checked. We got NO precipitation in Lakewood near my office, in fact several times when it claimed it was about to start the sun came out.

Yeah, I've made a few friends from the UP at school. Neither of them have any interest at all in going back for anything more than seeing family...

In the summer it's great, but I couldn't cope with the winters. That's also why I don't live in the mountains.

I didn't know my ex had gone into meteorology.

In Indy we have around 5-6", but it's going to keep going all day.

Just FYI, it's incredibly hard to predict snowfall. Snowstorms are complex, and any slight variation in upper level winds can throw things off.
But they get it mostly right. As in, it snows when they say it will, even if the predicted amount is off.

Instead of 6", we're getting what seems to be Average Black Guy levels out here.

Which is fine, except I think all the TV channels here (except channel 7/KMGH) desperately wanted to hype a snowpocalypse this time. I turned on channel 7 at one point and they said something to the effect of "We don't know why all the other news outlets are freaking out, we MIGHT get a foot of snow." A foot of snow isn't even that terrible, to be honest. Plus, it's happening on a weekend. BFD.
